Drupal 8 Website Launch for First Ministers Reading Challenge

The First Minister’s Reading Challenge (FMRC) aims to build on the work already taking place in schools across Scotland to encourage children to read widely, explore a range of books and develop a love of reading. The main focus of the Challenge is to encourage reading for pleasure and support schools, libraries and communities to build reading cultures. The programme is delivered by Scottish Book Trust, funded by the Scottish Government.

FMRC believe that reading has the power to change lives and that developing a love of reading in childhood can have a huge impact on educational attainment and future wellbeing.

The First Minister’s Reading Challenge aims to help children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 develop a love of reading. By supporting schools, libraries and communities across Scotland to develop reading cultures and give every child in Scotland the opportunity to experience the benefits – and the fun – of reading for pleasure.

mtc have a vastly experienced Drupal Development Team based between our Dundee, Edinburgh and Manchester offices. We worked closely with Scottish Book Trust, who are Edinburgh based to deliver this world class website based upon the latest version of the Drupal CMS, Drupal 8.

Sarah Barrie, Website Manager from Scottish Book Trust worked very closely with our Drupal team throughout the project:

The team here are thrilled with the new website. I honestly can’t thank you enough for everything that has been done, I’m both professionally and personally very, very grateful.
